Incident Manager

INCIDENT MANAGER – CONTRACT TO PERM – FREDERICK, MD

This position is NOT eligible for subcontractors or those that require sponsorship

Ensure that standardized methods and procedures (ITIL) are used for efficient and prompt handling of all incidents in order to minimize the impact of incidents in the environment.

Incident Manager Skills and Requirements:

• Able to work 12 hour shifts in a 365x24x7 environment
• University degree in IT Discipline or equivalent in years of progressive experience in enterprise level IT environments.
• Minimum of five years of Change/Incident/Problem Mgmt or Project Mgmt experience
• Working knowledge of Incident/Problem/Change Management frameworks such as ITIL v3, TQM or ISO 9000:2000 (certification not required, but is a plus).
• Proven communication skills with multiple levels of an organization, including interaction with senior level business partners within the company.
• Strong influencing and relationship management skills.
• Excellent ability to manage multiple high priority efforts/ competing priorities and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
• Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
• High level of IT literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Graduate study in area of expertise is helpful, but not required

VP of Engineering Skills and Requirements:

– 10+ years of enterprise ¬scale commercial web and database application
– Development experience in the following:
o JavaScript, Node.js, PHP, CSS, HTML
o Embedded / Hardware experience – C/C++
o SQL / relational database development, specifically PostgresSQL
o Linux Flavors
– Experience in unit and integration testing
– Experience hiring and managing software engineering teams
– Desire to manage product implementation and rollout

Bonus points:
– Prior Experience with Amazon AWS
– Some level of system administration on windows and linux
– Apache configuration

– Experience with IoT hardware

– Convert requirement and architecture specs into a software design
– Lead development of software code using an incremental build cycle methodology
– Unit and integration test software
– Provide software delivery schedules
– Work collaboratively with other SW/QA Engineers and Field Engineers to support product test and deployment
– Direct system architecture, design and infrastructure decisions
